Parrotia persica
Parrotia persica wordt vaak als meerstammige boom gekweekt maar ook als hoogstamboom een zeer waardevolle toevoeging in de tuin. Geschikt ook voor de kleinere tuin of de voortuin want hij zal zelden groter worden dan 10m. Parrotia perscia 'Vanessa' heeft daarenboven ook een meer opwaartse groei wat hem uitermate geschikt maakt voor kleinere plaatsen. Als meerstammige is Parrotia persica gewild voor zijn mooie grillige takkenstructuur. Hij bloeit vrij onopvallend voor het uitlopen van het blad maar de felrode helmknoppen zijn vooral op latere leeftijd goed te zien. Een bijzondere sierwaarde is ook de mooie herfstverkleuring in goudgeel, oranjerood tot paars.
